About CGV
CGV is a third-generation, family-owned construction and development company based in Cochrane, Ontario, with an in-house architectural and engineering design team. Since 1975, we have delivered commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential building projects across Northern and Central Ontario.
The Role
CGV is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our in-house design team at our Cochrane office. Work may involve conceptual design, permit drawings, construction documents, or a combination of these on commercial, industrial, and multi-residential projects.
The role involves coordinating with other design disciplines, both in-house and external, and working alongside CGV’s estimating, project management, and construction teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual design materials, including building layouts, 3D models, and architectural renderings.
- Prepare architectural drawings and specifications for site plan approval, building permit applications, and construction.
- Coordinate architectural work with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical design disciplines as required.
- Review and apply relevant building code, accessibility, planning, and client requirements.
- Respond to requests for information, prepare site instructions, and issue drawing revisions during construction.
- Conduct site visits to review construction progress and address design-related issues in the field.
- Maintain CGV’s drawing standards and project files.
Qualifications
- An advanced diploma in architectural technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in a design or construction environment is an asset. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of building construction, architectural detailing, and the Ontario Building Code.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
