Construction

CGV has been delivering construction projects across Northern and Central Ontario since 1975. We offer three primary project delivery methods: general contracting, design-build, and construction management.

General Contracting

The owner retains a consultant to design it. We bid on it, and we build it.

CGV has been delivering projects through tendered procurement since our founding in 1975. Over that time, we have completed hundreds of stipulated price contracts across many different sectors and communities. We have a track record in this space and a reputation among clients, consultants, and trades for running well-managed projects that are delivered safely, on time, and on budget.

Design-Build

We are responsible for both the design and the construction. One contract, one team, one point of contact.

CGV has been providing design-build services for over 25 years. With engineers, technologists, and technicians in house, we can complete the design process internally on many projects. When a project requires additional architectural or engineering expertise, we partner with external firms we know and trust. In either case, CGV leads the design-build process from start to finish.

Construction Management

We work directly for the owner, managing the project on their behalf from early planning through to construction.

Under a construction management model, CGV comes on board early, before key decisions are made. This gives the owner practical construction input while the project is still being planned, designed, and priced. We help assemble the right project team, guide the design stage, and oversee the work through construction. The owner stays in control of the decisions, while CGV manages the process and the details.

Sustainable Construction

CGV has experience delivering projects with specific energy efficiency and sustainability targets, including projects designed to reduce operating energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

When we built our own office building in Cochrane, we chose to design it to net zero standards. The building has received Zero Carbon Building Design certification through the Canada Green Building Council. For us, it was a practical way to lead by example and build to a standard that is becoming more important to project owners, funding programs, and the construction industry.

We are a member of the Canada Green Building Council and are committed to growing our portfolio of sustainable building projects as the industry continues to move in that direction.
