THE CGV GROUP
The CGV Group is a third-generation, family-owned company based in Cochrane, Ontario that has been delivering construction projects across Northern and Central Ontario since 1975.
Our group is made up of two companies: CGV Builders, a general contractor and design-builder, and CGV Developments, a multi-residential and commercial developer. Together, we can cover the full scope of a project, from early development and design through to construction and completion, all within the same organization.
We work with public and private sector clients across the commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential sectors. Behind that work are people who take what they build seriously, and that is what has made CGV one of Northern Ontario’s most respected names in construction.
OUR HISTORY
CGV’s story began in 1975, when three carpenters with family names Chevalier, Genereux, and Vezeau founded CGV Builders Inc. in Cochrane, Ontario. What started as a small contracting company grew steadily, and over time CGV became a name the region came to know and trust.
In the late 1990s, brothers Daniel and Michel Vezeau became the sole owners, marking the start of the company’s second generation of family leadership. Under their direction, the team grew, the work became more substantial, and CGV established itself as one of the larger general contractors operating across Northern and Central Ontario. That growth continued in 2014 with the founding of CGV Developments, a separate development company focused on multi-residential housing.
Today, CGV is in its third generation of family ownership. The company looks different than it did in 1975, but the standards that built CGV’s reputation have carried through to everything we do today.
2025 marked our 50th year in business.

Our Mission
Over fifty years in, we haven’t stopped questioning how to do this better. We don’t think we ever should. That mindset has carried us through generations of growth and continues to push us forward.
Our mission is simple: to be the contractor and developer that clients choose to come back to. We want to be known as people who do what they say, handle problems honestly, and make the process of building something a little less complicated than it has to be.
COMMUNITY
We’ve been part of Northern Ontario communities for a long time, and giving back to the people and places around us is something we care about. We sponsor local sports teams, support community events and charitable organizations, and provide bursaries for local students.
When we work in a community, we make a point of sourcing locally, involving local trades, and hiring local workers. The money spent on a project should benefit the community where it’s being built, and we think that’s just the right way to operate.
